Afghanistan (Press Release) November 17, 2007 --
Angel Smith, of Shoe Lagoon.com announced today that she has won 'Best Online Business' at the Precious Awards, held at the Penguin Building in London on 12th November.
The Precious Awards, sponsored by Pearson PLC are an opportunity to recognise and celebrate those women of colour in business that have shown determination, creativity, dedication, and, of course, entrepreneurial skills and talent.
Shoe Lagoon.com is an online boutique which sells ladies shoes, bags and accessories for special occasions. Despite only being around for just over a year Shoe Lagoon enjoys around 3,000 visitors a month with fashionista’s around the world flocking to purchase the stylish goods. Shoe Lagoon doesn’t only stock Angel’s shoe designs; it features goods from other up and coming designers as well.
“It’s wonderful” said Angel when asked about the award. “Setting up a business is hard work and receiving an award of this nature feels like a pat on the back and a ‘well done’. I feel that whilst any recognition is rewarding, being recognised by your own community is especially humbling, Shoe Lagoon still has a long way to go, but I’m delighted with the progress so far.”
