Exports of Chinese electric and electronic appliances grew 31 percent in the first ten months

China, People's Republic of (Press Release) November 19, 2007 -- Statistics from the General Administration of Customs, PRC suggest that imports and exports of China totaled US$1.76 trillion during the Jan.-Oct. period of this year, up 23.5 percent over the same period of the previous year. Of the total, exports registered US$985.84 billion, up 26.5 percent while imports stood at US$773.48 billion, a rise of 19.8 percent.

Of the total exports, mechanical and electronic products held an overwhelming share of 57 percent with US$562.24 billion, up 27.9 percent year on year. Within the category, exports of electric and electronic appliances amounted to US$238.78 billion, a year-on-year increase of 31.7 percent.
