United States of America (Press Release) November 19, 2007 --
San Diego, CA (November 16, 2007) – Want to win $5,000 designing a logo? Place your mark on a 20+ year-old San Diego company! Annex Brands, franchisor of PostalAnnex+, Handle With Care: Packaging Store, Sunshine Pack & Ship, and SPS Moving, is seeking entries in a contest to design a new logo for the Annex Brands’ name.
Entries will be accepted up to midnight, December 16, 2007. Full details can be found on the company’s website, www.AnnexBrands.com.
Annex Brands formerly was known as Postal Annex+, Inc. until September 20, 2007. Steve Goble, Vice President of Marketing Communications for the company said, “After our acquisition of the Packaging Store brand in early-September, we repositioned the corporation’s name to better reflect all of our brands’ contributions, not just one. ‘Annex’ is an acknowledgment of our roots in PostalAnnex+, and ‘Brands’ reflects our strength in the future as a multi-system operation.”
Goble said all current franchise locations will continue to operate under their existing brand names while only the corporate name has been changed. The company currently franchises over 400 retail and commercial shipping and business service centers in 35 states.
“We think there are lots of creative people out there, and we’d like to offer them the chance to design our new logo,” said Goble. “Imagine winning $5,000 and saying ‘I designed a logo for a 20+ year-old San Diego company.’”
Jack Lentz founder and CEO of Annex Brands, Inc., started Postal Annex+, Inc. in 1985, sharing a wall with the US Post Office in the University City area of San Diego, CA. That location is still in operation today as well as over 300 franchise locations established since that time.
In 2006, the company acquired the franchise system of Sunshine Pack & Ship and SPS Moving locations, concentrated mainly in the South. The Sunshine purchase extended the company’s reach not only into new states but also into new shipping methods with the addition of freight and van line services. Just a year later in September, 2007, the company increased its depth in the shipping industry with the acquisition of the 68-store Handle With Care:Packaging Store system. The addition opened 11 new states for Annex Brands locations, bringing the total to 35 served. “This is an exciting time for our company as we continue to grow in our industry,” said Lentz. “Now we just need a logo.”
