United States of America (Press Release) November 23, 2007 --
Boston, 22 Nov 2007 - Rich Baker from "Gimme Some More" has posted a new blog concerning Paintball, one of the fastest growing extreme sports of today. The blog gives a brief history of the sport, and
tells some of Rich's personal experience.
My pursuit of paintball began with a recreational game that was part of a bachelor party, where none of the participants had ever played before. To put it bluntly,we were a bunch ofNERDS, DWEEBS, and DORKS,with very little athletic ability. After we got pelted a couple of times, our survival instincts took over, and we were driven.By the end of the day we had clearly divided teams, and we were working together, making every shot count. That day surely ended, but our lust for Paintball surely did not!
Two out of the ten of us would never play again. The remaining 8,within a weeks time, owned our own Markers(some more than one),and protective gear, and set out to play every Sunday, rain or shine. After three months we were down to five, and the five of us are still going strong after a couple of years. We have sought out other enthusiasts, and have played at several commercial fields,as well as a few back yards, and some back woods.
From my perspective Paintball is a positive sport for all ages.It gets people outdoors, exercising. It teaches respect for rules, and caring for tools. It teaches team work, and how to think for yourself. There is a similar camaraderie that is associated with other team sports.Depending on how involved you get, there are goals to be reached from novice to professional, which help building strategies that work on and off the field.
The newly launched Paintball for Non-Dummies blog provides information on everything Paintball,
past,present,and future.
