THIS IS THE GUINUINE TRUE STORY OF WHY ATLANTA' S # 1 BAND STiiLPOiNT BROKE UP:
If you are thinking of working with SMR Records you might want to think twice...
-They do not book shows for the bands on the label. They leave the booking up to the members of the bands.
- Even though they claim to have distribution through Universal/Fontana, they DO NOT have any distribution what so ever.
- If a band does finally get themselves a show booked the owner of the label gets ridiculously drunk at EVERY show and curses out EVERY club owner and threatens to kick there ass, thus making a bad name for the bands on the label.
- The label does not pay artist, photographers, video crew, web designers, or anyone else who works for them, instead the owner uses intimidation to threaten them to work for them.
- The "label" is run out of this guys basement by people who are drug addicts, drunks, cheaters, and not to mention the owner of the label supplies underage girls with alcoholic drinks in an attempt to seduce them.
-The owner brings HARD drugs, such as cocaine, on the broken down school bus which is used as the TOUR bus!!!!
- Owner drives bands home on bus shit-faced drunk. It is a miracle that no one has gotten killed or arrested yet.
So if you are thinking about working with Southern Metal Records, whether you are a band, photographer, web designer, or anyone else, PLEASE think twice. It is a dead end street literally!
