Chauncey Murdock says Nurses Need to Be Prepared for the Other Crisis

November 26, 2007

A nurse explains why the nursing shortage hurts nurses in more ways than one. He urges health care professionals to take their future seriously.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 26, 2007 -- The nursing shortage sweeping the United States may be worse than even the medical community expected. By the year 2008, another 450,000 nurses may be needed to meet the demand, according to government projections. The average age for a nurse in the country is 48, most are preparing to retire soon which will put more strain on the system.

Chauncey Murdock, a nurse from Southern California says that although nursing is a great career choice and stable, many nurses aren’t prepared for the future. “Most nurses really don’t realize how bad this can get."

When a hospital or other health care facility is short of staff, the existing staff often has to take on extra hours and job duties to fill the void. This is what leads to burn out and high turnover among nurses.

Nursing is a very rewarding profession, and you can earn a decent income, nurses over the years have been overworked and underpaid. The risks of the job are high. They include the risk of back injury and contracting diseases such as AIDS or hepatitis because of being exposed to blood or pricked by a dirty needle.

If one adds up all of the work that a nurse does in one shift and compares the salary they receive, it really is not what it should be. Doctors get paid according to the procedures they perform, but not nurses.

Chauncey Murdock says that nurses have to invest in their future. “At anytime you can suffer injury or contract a disease no matter how careful you are, and when you’re out of work what good is that?”

Murdock was working as a private duty nurse when he realized that he did not have any health insurance, workers compensation, or retirement. He said it was actually a good thing he was in that position because it forced him to seek some protection and invest in his future. He found relief and opportunity in internet marketing.

“I found that the internet offers so many ways to earn money with less risk than working somewhere and injuring yourself,” says Murdock. He is actively involved in several income opportunities such as Roadmap to Riches. The program pays him $999 for every sale, and most of the advertising for his program cost him very little. The Roadmap to Riches program has given him hope and reduced the stress that he had solely depending on nursing.

He is still a nurse, but he works part-time, and he encourages other nurses to stay in the field because after all we need our nurses. He just wants nurses to find other income streams to fall back on. “You can do what I am doing now. If you can work as a nurse or any healthcare professional, then you can master internet marketing as long as you have the right tools and training. I am connected with the right team that can help anyone.”

Murdock has teamed up with mentors Chris Campbell and Mike Klatt who have a proven track record of making new marketers a success.
