Celebrity recording artist DItch speaks out against censorship in hip hop and rap music
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 26, 2007 --
Wild antics onstage, crazy times with hot women, drunken nights and videos - yes we all know hip hop recording artist Ditch. Now Ditch has taken up the fight against censorship in rap music. " I remember in the late 1980's when I was growing up...I discovered hip hop and it was only after a few months in listening to my favorite artists such as Ice T or 2 Live Crew when congress and Tipper Gore (yes Al Gores wife, let us not forget) went against rap music. This was a terrible time. Freedom of Speech is the first and foremost amendment in the United States Constitution and for them to violate it when music is an art, is an expression is sickening. That was when they slapped warning labels on anything they found offensive and thus we still have the labels on the cd's to this day, affecting the look and feel of each cd cover it disgraces. Now in 2007 we got round two almost 20 years later... They now try to blame rap for Don Imus's stupid, racist remarks when in fact it had nothing to do with hip hop at all. This is another example of the government and censors trying to use hip hop as their scapegoat for other problems. Racsim is caused by the government and what they did to African American in the 1950's. If the government wants to point the finger they should look at themselves to blame. Music is an expression. Music is an artform. We ask that congress and anyone else stay the hell out of our business and our lyrics. We dont approach them about how un happy we are that our troops are dying everyday in Iraq."
