This holiday season, The Dock Downtown is uniting with L.A. Family Housing to welcome families home again. Between November 1 and December 23, for every sofa purchased
at The Dock Downtown, the store will donate a new upholstered chair to a family in need.

The Dock Downtown is a high-end home furnishing retailer located just east of the Artists' Loft District in downtown Los Angeles. The store sells made-to-order upholstered and wood furniture and overstock designer home furnishings and gifts for up to 80% off retail. Throughout the year, The Dock Downtown is committed to offering well-made, well designed furniture to its customers. But during the holidays, the company is extending that commitment to those who are less fortunate.

Says owner Ali Ferber Peters, "Our business is about helping people make their homes warm, beautiful and comforting. No one needs that more than families transitioning out of homelessness. By offering this promotion, we can partner with our customers to make a real difference. Together we can help local families rebuild their lives."

The upholstered leather chairs valued at $495 each will be distributed to families through L.A. Family Housing, a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding homeless families and individuals improve the quality of their lives by providing housing and supportive services.

President of L.A. Family Housing Stephanie Klasky-Gamer elaborates on what the chairs will mean to the program. “When families lose their home, we work hard to help them retain their dignity. Offering them beautiful, new furniture brings the comforts of home to them in our shelters. It is a symbol of respect for the families during a challenging time.”
