Mickey Markoff talks about the The National Salute to America’s Heroes: The National Salute to America’s Heroes pays tribute to all of our heroes, including the brave men and women serving in the armed forces, veterans, public servants, community leaders, and those who give of themselves to serve and protect others. We salute these gallant heroes as they sacrifice to defend our freedom, our values and our lives. The National Salute to America’s Heroes kicks-off National Military Appreciation Month Fort Lauderdale Beach with Fleet Week USA and the Air & Sea Show.
Last year, with our community and the nation experiencing a renewed sense of patriotism, you and your family had the opportunity to participate in an event that recognized the men and women of the United States military who are fighting to defend our rights and freedoms. You witnessed spectacular demonstrations and activities such as the joint forces 'Invasion of the Beach' and the breath-taking U.S. Navy Blue Angels Demonstration team.
Navy ships from Fleet Week USA provided a spectacular backdrop for air & sea performances by all five branches of the U.S. military, along with world-famous civilian aerobatics pilots.
We hope you enjoyed the Air & Sea Show, which has become a signature South Florida event attracting visitors from around the world. This family-oriented, wholesome event reconnects the American public with the military, provides significant exposure for corporate sponsors, supports local charities and inspires the youth of our community to become the leaders of tomorrow.
