Cleveland OH- Low Down Records, an independent hip hop label is giving away 10,000 copies of their newest release, “Shell: Black Pearl of the Ghetto”, which normally retails for $15.99.
Founded in 2002, Low Down Records released several projects prior to the audio-movie, Shell: Black Pearl of the Ghetto. All of which sold minimal copies. However, “things started looking up when the releases tapped on what was ailing the community,” says CEO of Low Down Records, Antonio Evens. “The teens need to hear the truth for a change. It seems like all mainstream music and movies are about rims, clothes, and jewelry. Shell: Black Pearl of the Ghetto is not only entertaining, it’s the truth. We’re the Jewels. That’s why the public embraced us.”
