Casablanca, Morocco & Singapore – December 4, 2007
Springboard Research, a leading innovator in the IT Market Research industry, today announced that it has opened a global research center in Casablanca, Morocco to better serve its growing number of clients in the Middle East and Africa.
“The Middle East and Africa represents a big opportunity for Springboard and our business model,” said Dane Anderson, CEO of Springboard Research. “IT vendors globally are looking at emerging markets as a vital source of growth for the future and the Middle East and Africa will play an important role in that regard. We believe that these markets have been neglected and under-researched by the traditional IT market research establishment, and Springboard is looking to provide some new and unique services to our clients in the region,” added Mr. Anderson.
Springboard’s Moroccan research center will be led by James Erickson, who has been concentrating on Springboard’s expansion in the Middle East and Africa for the past year. “I am excited to be part of Springboard’s push into the region and I look forward to establishing a world class research center to support our client’s activities in the Middle East and Africa. The next 1 billion technology users are going to come from emerging markets and I look forward to working with our clients to help them take advantage of this opportunity” said Mr. Erickson.
“We see incredibly versatile talent in Morocco that will help to fuel not only our expansion in the Middle East and Africa, but also our global ambitions. As the world moves to global delivery, it is key that we further expand the language, geographic, and research skills of our organization to better serve our clients as well as driving the efficiencies of our research model,” said Mr. Anderson. “Morocco represents an optimal location for Springboard’s global research center and we are happy to have James leading our efforts in the region. We also look forward to expanding our Middle East and African network in the future” added Mr. Anderson.
Springboard provides a suite of market research services in the Middle East and Africa region including custom research, primary research, and syndicated research, all of which are focused on helping technology vendors to better understand and capture the immediate and long term technology opportunities in the region.
In addition to the research and business objectives of this new research presence, Springboard is motivated by the role it believes it can play to help the regional IT market develop. The company’s research in the region to date has found a complete lack of good market data and information upon which the industry can make informed decisions. Moreover, the lack of good market intelligence on the region holds back many global firms from investing in the region because they do not understand the opportunities that exist.
“Although the role we can play in the region’s IT development may be small in the grand scheme of things, we are excited by the opportunity to contribute to IT industry development in the region,” noted Mr. Anderson. “Good information can draw IT investment to the region and help local firms make better business decisions, and it is very rewarding for us to play a role in helping this emerging part of the world develop,” added Mr. Anderson.
