Ovetii Report That Market Is Set To Open Up On Profits And Rate Hopes

The Federal Reserve's rate-setting committee is due to meet again soon and is expected to lower both the benchmark overnight federal funds rate and the discount rate.

The Commerce Department releases new home sales soon. Sales are forecast to slip to an annual rate of 780,000 units from 795,000 in August, according to economists polled by Reuters.
