United States of America (Press Release) December 6, 2007 --
The launch of DigiBitz Digital Equipment in October of 2006 was supposed to be a small, fun, hobby site that pulled in just enough cash to help pay for my 18-year-old son's college expenses, or so I thought.
Coming from a neighborhood North of Boston, I've worked hard from the day I was able to. Married shortly out of high school, had a son at 23, only to have the marriage end a few years later. Without hesitation, I went to college, my degree in Computer Programming and raised my son, into an amazingly smart young man.
For years I worked, and devoted my entire life to my son, never regretting a single minute. I bought the house I promised my son when he was young and still live there today. All the while knowing in the back of my mind I wanted much more out of my career, always thinking "there's got to be a better way". I had to someday be my own boss.
I loved the idea of having my own business, but would never take the risk, until last year. It was just a hobby, I started playing around with my own website. Being a technical "weenie", I started a digital camera review site. After seeing the resulting traffic to my site I decided, why not sell, and started DigiBitz Digital Equipment, a website offering top brands of digital and consumer electronics at competitive prices.
The response has been great, my traffic reach is moving into the six-figure mark, something I never expected! A few search engine submissions, and in just a few months, I'm reaching in upwards of eight plus countries!
What was started as a hobby has now made me realize that this “could be” so much more. I work on my site everyday now, adding products on a regular basis along with working a 40-hour a week job that will be ending the first of the year after 7 years, due to my contract not being renewed at GE in Lynn because my department is being phased out.
I'm now trying desperately to make this site work, so I don't have to worry about losing my job at GE. I've worked so hard my whole life, I've always found a way over any obstacle, but with a mortgage now, and college bills, I'm working on this website harder than I've ever worked at any "company" in my life, which says a LOT. Hopefully, it will take hold and people will notice me, so sales will increase soon.
So far, things are going great and it's starting to get off the ground. Products on my site include digital cameras, iPods, GPS systems, MP3 players, Satellite receivers, iPhones, and more. It's hard to keep up with finding items that will give customers a great deal - so my product line is small, but growing daily.
My goal is to keep adding products that consumers want. I want to devote all my time to my business, it's so important to me to succeed. I want to help other single moms break into the online business world too, so they can see that hard work really can pay off. With the right mind set, anything’s possible. Feel free to email me at Info@digibitz.com or stop by www.DigiBitz.com for a visit.

This is how I, a single mom, beat the odds, took a risk and started my own online business. Just in the nick of time!
