Dr Alex Golbin donates his valuable time to teach a portion of each of Dr Shapira's classes and acquaints the doctors with sleep labs and their protocols and gives the students an introduction to some of the more esoteric topics of Sleep Medicine. Dr Shapira is the founder of I HATE CPAP LLC an organization that has pledged itself to promoting Dental Sleep Medicine and oral appliances as a comfortable alternative to CPAP. His website
http://www.ihatecpap.com
is helping patients across the country who hate CPAP find Sleep Apnea Dentists that can help them find alternatives to CPAP . The website has helped patients in The U.S. and Canada and across South America, Europe and the Far East.

He is currently working on a new website http://www.ihateheadaches.org to help connect patients suffering fro migraines, chronic daily headaches, tension headaches and TMD or TM Joint (TMJ) Disorders find information on Neuromuscular Dentistry and locate doctors to relieve their suffering without excessive medication usage.

Dr Shapira is hoping to change the fields of oral surgery with his unique approach to early minimally invasive removal of wisdom teeth prior to calcification. He believes the that in addition to decreasing pain and morbidity that the unique nature of the partially developed third molars will allow collections of stem cells from all three germ layers that will become essential for research and future medical treatments. New research in stem cells show that cells similar to embryonic stem cells can be produced from adult cells. Young healthy stem cells obtained from early removal of wisdom teeth will be superior because the telomeres will remain intact.

When Dolly the Sheep was cloned she prematurely aged and was physiologically as old as her mother at two years of age. This is due to telomeres that shorten as we age. Collection of young healthy stem cells with intact telomeres may enable a vaccine against aging. At least this is what Dr Shapira hopes will be the results of the years of personal research and expenses invested. Dr Shapira currently holds four patents on devices and methods for collecting bone marrow and stem cells from minimally invasive surgery.

Dr Shapira hopes his devices can also be used for minimally invasive collection of bone marrow from the hips, sternum and calvarium. Minimally invasive surgery would allow bone marrow donors a lee invasive and less painful alternative to current techniques.
