ANARCHY IN THE CHRISTMAS CHARTS - WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM THEIR FRIENDS
Facebook band Anarchy Xmas release their charity Christmas single today, Monday 10 December. ‘Smells like Christmas Time’ is available from all major download sites, including iTunes and HMV Digital.
All proceeds will be shared between Oxfam, NSPCC, Shelter, Cancer Research UK and Friends of the Earth.
The band is made up of students from across the UK who met up via the popular networking site, where they now have nearly 5,000 supporters. They describe their release as ‘a real Christmas song’ and are hoping for a place in the festive charts.
They also have a page on Myspace, and faced a setback this week when this was mysteriously deleted, losing contact with 1,500 supporters, and all records of how often the page had been viewed. Myspace have so far been unable to explain why the site was erased.
Anarchy Xmas worked fast to get the page back up and running, and their friends list now includes famous names like Jack Penate, Mark Ronson, The Mighty Boosh, Cajun Dance Party and jazzers Polar Bear.
