United States of America (Press Release) December 12, 2007 --
Susan Wingate's mystery novel, Of the Law, is making a splash when it lands this coming year at the 2008 Book Expo of America in Los Angeles, CA. The next Book Expo will be held at the LA Convention Center from the 29th of May until June 1st.
After receiving rave reviews from independent sources and authors alike, Wingate's mystery, Of the Law, will hit the "big time" at the next Book Expo.
Of the Law (released May 2007) has shown outstanding sales in its category. It continues to "top the charts" locally and regionally where Wingate is best known but the book's breadth is growing.
"Of the Law" is a tale about Harvey Flemings, Police Chief on small Dahl Island. When Harvey falls into a seething pit of deceit, bribery and murder his high ethical standards are tested. Failure to bring to justice Leona Malouf (a most corrupt woman of means) colors Harvey’s every thought. Despite her crack legal team, Harvey vows to end Leona’s run of terror. Doing so, however, he enters a world of sinister thought. With Harvey’s intentions under scrutiny, he battles the very element he’s fought his entire life. Evil has grabbed hold of his moral collar and won’t let go.
