United Kingdom of Great Britain & N. Ireland (Press Release) December 17, 2007 --
COLIN GALBRAITH is selling all of his in-print chapbooks in a series of remarkable offers this December and January, in an effort to expose Scottish Poetry to as many people as possible.
With an array of special money-saving ideas and personalised offers, Galbraith – Scotland’s hottest rising literary talent – is giving away his chapbooks in both print and online formats, and personalising them for readers around the world.
“It’s all about bringing Scottish poetry to the masses,” says Galbraith. “If I can make just a few people open one of my books and read some poetry, who wouldn’t normally think of it, then it will be worth it.
“I want people to see that poetry doesn’t have to be stuffy or hard to read; poetry can be ridiculous, funny and interesting; it can be relevant to today and make you think about the modern world we live in.”
The books involved are FRINGE FANTASTIC, Galbraith’s critically acclaimed collection of poetry about the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and POOLSIDE POETRY, a hilarious and thoughtful jaunt through Cyprus and what it’s like to be abroad and Scottish.
Many of the five available offers bring the author closer to the readers, with several opportunities to get personalised messages written on the books themselves.
“I like to make it personal,” says Galbraith. “It makes authors seem more real and less pretentious, and with poetry, this is especially important.”
