John Graham, Direct Digital Frames principal lays out the plan “ This business of USB devices such as digital picture frames is just on a major upswing in growth. What we saw with Flash Drive Direct is that the consumer wanted an all in 1 solution. Current digital picture frame, and most USB supplier business models are confusing to the end user and to the promotional distributor. They require the purchaser to buy memory as a separate component and in turn provide little if any educational process to the consumer as to what is good, bad, functional or purpose built.
Direct Digital Frames provides the 16 Billion dollar promotional products industry with an educational model along with an all in 1 business solution. Model determined by industry focus groups.
Basing the new divisions business model on the already successful Flash Drive Direct, the company has reduced the confusion by providing a complete solution. This includes an educational DVD and web site, integrated Samsung memory and Tier 1 Hynix operating controllers (Hynix owns LG electronics).
Initial focus groups with industry leaders such as Jack Nadel, Corporate Express and more than 20 other industry mavens helped to shape this new approach. “It was determined,” states Graham, “by the people who are our customers that the business model needed to meet their needs was not being offered in the current business paradigms. The vision that came out of these discussions was that current digital picture frame and in general USB suppliers to the promotional products industry were basing their offering on a commodity driven model, which did not work for the ad specialty business. Price stability, complete solutions and educational offerings were more important to them (the promotional industry) than the price only driven commodity model” Direct Digital Frames launches in 50 states and 45 countries January 7th.
