Ridgeland, MS. A 10 year old boy from Mississippi is the creator of GoGreen Man, an environmental action hero. Jonathan Lee is sending a green New Year’s message to over 130 world leaders, including President Bush and the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. It is his hope that children get involved in helping stop global warming and he suggests that children of the world unite. In Jonathan’s words, he believes “children are the present and the future.”
Jonathan is already recognized in the U.S. Senate and House. This summer, he was even taken onto the House floor. Senator John Kerry was quoted in the Washington Times as saying that Jonathan was an “environmental ambassador” to children around the world. Not only is Jonathan active in the United States, he is already involved in the Greenbelt Movement in Mongolia and has suggested planting chestnut trees in North Korea. He met 2000 Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former president Kim Dae-jung and presented his idea.
