W.R. Benton and Melanie D. Calvert wed on December 22, 2007
Saga books announced today that Western Fiction Author W.R. Benton and Melanie D. Calvert, a Professional Photographer and book cover artist, were married on December 22, 2007. The wedding was held in Jackson, Mississippi, at the church in "Old Town," at the Ag Museum, at 2 p.m. The church has a long history and was in build in the 1800's. It is a favorite spot for local weddings.
The ceremony was in a Western theme, with the bride wearing a white cowboy hat,matching veil, and boots, while the groom wore his hat and boots as well. The bride was give away by her son, James Hollis, and the best man was Tom Warren. A reception was held in the Richland Community Center.
The Benton's planned to spend their honeymoon working on a new book together, "Fur Seekers." Melanie has one book at the publishers now and W.R. has had eight books published.
