United States of America (Press Release) January 8, 2008 --
Actors for Autism, a non-profit organization is expanding in 2008! The group based in Los Angeles County was started in 2004 by actress/educator Alisa Wolf after her son was diagnosed with autism. She quickly started knocking on doors in the entertainment community. Her advisory board has grown over the years and includes such stars as Joe Mantegna, John Schneider, Dave Clark, Greg Evigan and John Landis to name a few. This year their expansion includes Chapters across the United States, a television show, and bringing their programs to the Jewish Community. “We are extremely excited about the collaboration”, said Wolf. Their social skills groups will focus on eye contact, taking turns, playing fair, following rules and appropriate play. Classes will be held at Temple Aliyah and are being offered in collaboration with the Shearim Programs at Valley Beth Shalom.
