United States of America (Press Release) January 8, 2008 --
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., Jan. 8, 2007 – More than 600 outsourcing professionals from world-leading companies that use, provide and advise on outsourcing services will converge in Orlando this February at the 2008 Outsourcing World Summit®.
“This event is increasingly attracting executives from the C-suite level and other leading professionals from around the globe who understand the importance that outsourcing plays in today’s global economy,” said Christina Powers, executive director of International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP). “From early registration counts, we expect this year’s Outsourcing World Summit to be another sell out.”
Themed “Reconceptualizing the Corporation in an Era of Outsourcing, Offshoring, and Globalization,” the 11th annual event will be held Feb. 18-20, 2008 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando, FL.
Produced by IAOP with Fortune Custom Projects, The Outsourcing World Summit is the world’s longest running and most highly acclaimed, global executive program on outsourcing.
Among the world-class companies participating in the event are: Allstate Insurance Co., American Express, Apple, Inc., Best Buy Co., Blue Shield of California, Capital One Canada, Citi Markets & Banking, First American Corp., General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft Foods, Marathon Oil Corp., MetLife, Nestle Waters North America, Qualcomm Inc., The McGraw-Hill Companies, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Vodafone and WellPoint.
The Outsourcing World Summit is once again expected to draw delegates, speakers and sponsoring companies from across the globe and the industry. Last year, delegates represented nearly 30 countries, including many emerging hotbeds for outsourcing talent.
“The Outsourcing World Summit is the place where valuable outsourcing relationships begin, and hundreds of million of dollars of business deals are initiated and made,” Powers said. “More than half of Summit delegates play an organization-wide role in their company’s outsourcing decisions and the average customer-side delegate is responsible for $60 million of annual outsourcing spending, so attending this event can have a real return on investment.”
Highlights of the three-day conference include a keynote address by Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich on how outsourcing is changing business in today’s economy, as well as 30 individual sessions across six tracks, customer panels, networking events and outsourcing provider exhibits.
