United States of America (Press Release) January 8, 2008 -- Rochdale, Mass., January 5, 2008 – Servprise International, Inc. has completed the deployment of the WebReboot® Enterprise for remote reboot and management of over 10,000 servers for two datacenters in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. Mounted in racks of servers, WebReboot enables server customers to use the Internet to remotely monitor and if necessary reboot their system safely, just like they could if they were physically standing in front of the server and pressed the power or reset switch by hand.

"This add-on product upgrades the installed base of servers with the latest generation of remote control and management capability," said Cory von Wallenstein, President of Servprise. There are some 30 million servers worldwide.

"For the first time, there is an integrated approach to meet the demands of dedicated hosting companies," von Wallenstein continued. "Hosting companies are looking for ways to empower their customers with self-service support, and to avoid expensive downtime in the event of a system crash. Their customers no longer have to call technical support and wait while a technician travels to the server location to reboot."

Alternative reboot products essentially "pull the power plug," cutting off then restoring power to the server, which can irreparably damage the hardware.

The new generation of WebReboot Enterprise product line has 24-, 48- and 80-port models to address the needs of small and enterprise-level operations, and offers secure access from anywhere. The Texas-based hosting company has deployed more than 225 WebReboot Enterprise units, and in turn, jumped ahead of their competition in overall service value for their customers. The new product line also monitors a server’s internal temperature and power status. It can integrate with a server regardless of operating system or size, and requires no software installation.
"We were looking for a solution to our automation needs that could interface with any type of motherboard, and that would allow us to lower our manpower costs," said Jeremy Sou-Antilla, chief technology officer for Layered Technologies in Frisco, Texas. "Servprise was the only one able to do that." The new generation technology "allows our clients to be more truly self-managed," he continued. And throughout the installation process, he noted, "there were no surprises."

"Providing customers with the opportunity to do things for themselves creates a competitive advantage for any company," said von Wallenstein. "Our product offers a way for hosting companies and data centers to attract more customers by adding value to the services they already provide."
