Canada (Press Release) January 9, 2008 --
When you title your CD box set, “100,000,000 Million Fans Can’t Be Wrong,” and follow it up with a few more record setting albums and hit singles, you’re bound to have a large and loyal fan base. As New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi continue to hit the road in support of their latest effort Lost Highway, the band’s fans are doing a little behind the scenes work by planning an online campaign to create rock n’ roll history. This fan inspired idea is to organize the world’s largest surprise birthday party for their favorite band’s front man, Jon Bon Jovi.
www.BonJoviFansRock.com, a fan website seeking the 'Ultimate Bon Jovi Fans' was launched on January 1st, 2008 with hopes of gathering as many fans of Bon Jovi from around the world to join in a global celebration on March 2nd of this year, JBJ's actual birthday and date of the ‘secret’ event.
Website founder and event organizers say, “I know the general idea behind this is that it’s supposed to be a surprise… The bigger we can grow this thing the secrecy part of it is obviously going to be less likely.”
Statistics posted on this Bon Jovi fan website indicate that participants from over twenty-five countries have already registered to partake in the event, with even more getting involved on an hourly basis.
The current Bon Jovi tour will see the band stopping in Philadelphia, PA on that particular date of March 2nd and the search is on to locate as many fans who will be attending that show to make it an even more eventful night than the band themselves may have planned. For those fans around the world that cannot be in attendance at the Philadelphia concert, there are tentative plans to try and organize at least one simultaneous party on each continent.
Anyone can register to be part of this event through the website and perhaps put a mark on rock n’ roll history?
When referring to those 100 million fans in the CD box set title the organizer states, “In our Ultimate Bon Jovi Fan Search, we would settle with connecting with a conservative one percent of those fans to join our party.”
