Doula Consultancy Services provides Antepartum, Birth Doula; Postnatal Middlesex University accredited academic training. This type of doula training is unique and it does not exist anywhere else in the UK or the world!!!

The word, "doula” comes from the Greek word for the most important female servant in an ancient Greek household. Doulas are specially trained non midwifery/non medical labour companions that provide antenatal and postnatal support to women. A Doula provides valuable assistance to women, their partners & families during pregnancy, at the birth, and during the postnatal period. Doulas provide advice on comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, massage, positioning, non-pharmacological pain relief options, emotional and informational support.

The five day Antepartum/birth/postnatal course will be accredited Middlesex University at level 1 (certificate level).

Tea, coffee, biscuits and lunch will be provided.

The Doula academic course is academically accredited and can be used to access other courses and carries academic integrity. There will be ongoing professional development through refresher courses and forums for peer support and supervision for all Doulas affiliated with Doula Consultancy Services. The Doula Consultancy Services would also be looking to provide Doula teacher training courses to help Doulas who wish to teach other Doulas and may be able to provide these trainers with work related to our own training programme.
