United States of America (Press Release) January 14, 2008 --
When 7 year old Los Angeles resident, Dylan Stoutenburg, was online reading about his hero, Jackie Chan, he was surprised to find out that Jackie is not just the guy you see in the actions films for which he is famous for... as it turns out, Jackie Chan has as big an affinity for kids as they have for him.
Jackie is involved with a number of organizations and uses his fame to help those less fortunate. The organization that caught 7 years old Dylan's eye was Jackie Chan's Dragon's Heart Foundation and it's Build a School for a Dollar program - http://www.jackiechankids.com/files/Build_School.htm.
After learning from his website that kids in some places don't have the same access to education that we have in the US and learning from his father that an education meant a better job when you get older, a better income, access to better health care, etc. it all seemed to click and Dylan wanted to help.
Dylan had participated in several fundraisers with the local YMCA and learned that you can get sponsors to help raise money if you are willing to do something to earn it. Dylan is a big tennis fan and decided he was going to practice serving every chance he gets and find sponsors to pay him for every GOOD serve he could make in 100 tries.
Practice will begin on January 1st and a the big event will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 at a local tennis court. Jackie Chan has committed to match any money raised for the event and Dylan hopes to raise thousands of dollars.
Anyone interested in sponsoring Dylan in his effort or in making a flat contribution to the cause can visit the website set up the event's main sponsor, Resource Conservation Group, LLC - http://www.resourceconservationgroup.com/tennischallenge ..., by calling them at 213-278-2815 or by e-mailing them at recongroup@gmail.com for details.
