United States of America (Press Release) January 15, 2008 --
Fred Lundgren, CEO of KTAE 1330 AM Radio says, "With all the talk about a recession this year, we thought it was time to offer advertisers a real bargain; 99 cents for a 30 second radio ad".
Lundgren says he will use his 99 cent loss-leader to remind main street that the vagaries of Wall Street serve to increase, not decrease, the need to advertise and traditional local media remains the most efficient way to present products and services to a mass audience.
Lundgren points to a 2007 survey outlined in Journalism.org showing that more than 93% of all Americans over the age of 12 years will listen to free, over-the-air AM/FM radio each week while almost 400 million newspapers are printed and distributed each week.
Lundgren adds, "Although the Internet has become an important tool for millions, it is no substitute for traditional mass media".
Lundgren, who lives in Katy, is the CEO of KTAE 1330 AM Cameron, Texas (listed in the Killeen/Temple Texas market). KTAE is the favorite station of many Central Texas Polka fans because the station airs polka and waltz music each afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m.
Lundgren is also the founder and managing partner of KCAA 1050 AM Loma Linda, California which is listed in the Riverside/San Bernardino market.
Lundgren made headlines in April of 2007 when KCAA aired re-broadcasts of the Don Imus radio program after IMUS was fired by CBS.
