Candle of Essence™ - Family Crafted, Scented Soy Candles

United States of America (Press Release) January 17, 2008 -- (Downingtown, PA, January 11, 2008) In 2004, Kevin and Debi McGowan set out on a quest to start a family business. Many ideas were discussed, although they were sure that they wanted to "do something that they used, liked, was consumable" and hopefully could improve on what was available at retail. Scented candles were always a part of the McGowan home and at the time they didn't know much about the ingredients of a candle. As they researched and feverishly tested, they became aware of the benefits of soy versus paraffin. They found that soy candles did not smoke or leave sooty residue on the walls. They also learned that soy is a naturally renewable resource and benefits many US farmers. They began with votives and have since created a full line of scented soy candles; including tealights, travel tins, tartlets and jars. Many chandlers do not offer these many types of candles, but as they grew, participated in more craft shows and began to sell online, they realized that people were requesting all types of candles. They even had a recent request for tapers.

Their company, Candle of Essence™, handcrafts candles with the highest quality blends of soy wax, which create a smooth texture and creamy appearance. They use 100% cotton wicks that burn clean and are virtually self trimming. Their carefully selected fragrance oils are added to each scented candle at the highest percentages.
