Discovery Initiatives announces new trip – The Sardine Run Marine Safari in South Africa

Discovery Initiatives (http://www.discoveryinitiatives.co.uk) has announced the launch of a new trip called The Sardine Run Marine Safari in South Africa.
Described as one of the greatest marine spectacles on earth, the sardine run takes place every year between May and July, encompassing shoals of sardines up to 15km long, three-and-a-half kilometres wide and 40km deep. In terms of sheer biomass, the sardine migration rivals that of the wildebeest through the great plains of Africa.
The new Discovery Initiatives Sardine Run Marine Safari (http://www.discoveryinitiatives.co.uk/discover/trip/South_Africa/The_Sardine_Run_-_A_Marine_Safari) is an adventurous and hands-on eight day African marine safari. The tour is aimed at anyone with an interest in marine life and who wants an informative but fun and hands-on adventure.
The first date for the tour is Thursday 5th June 2008, and the 2nd tour leaves the UK on Wednesday 11th June.
In accordance with Discovery Initiatives conservation ethos, this trip provides a fnancial contribution is made to The Endangered Wildlife Trust in South Africa which supports the Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI) to raise awareness of marine conservation and The Marine and Coastal Working Group promoting healthy marine and coastal ecosystems
