Hip Hop radio program producers can't keep up with brokered radio airtime fees
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 26, 2008 --
I run WHUT 91.9 FM in NYC, which is the premier FCC Part-15 brokered airtime radio station which mostly, at one time was all hip-hop shows for the passed 12 years. Now WHUT FM, has airtime available for sale, for any format.
My honest opinion: HIP HOP IS GOING $$ BUST $$.
During those early years, we've had various HIP-HOP program producers that had money, and now they are BROKE, from, Promo Radio with Jessie Jess and Mr.Raw at www.hiphoppalace.com, Show Case Radio with Dj Sleepy Eye, AOS Radio, Mogul Radio, H.U.N.C Radio, Harlem up and Coming, The Ready-Cee Show, at www.djreadycee.com. These shows are no longer heard at WHUT FM and more to fade away very soon!
In 2007 I saw the worst year ever. Our weekly radio shows had many cancellations every week and three radio shows dropped out completely. The beginning of 2008 shows no improvement either as the stock market drops and reflects on consumer spending, leaving many radio sponsors uncertain about hip hop's future.
