How would you describe your fashion style? How about the items that you are selling?
My style : On a regular day im a basic tee and jeans kinda gal. But if i need to notch it a little, i go for my beloved vintage looking stuff. things i sell : up-to-date trendy and unique clothes from either abroad or from my own line
When and how did you get into online selling?
We started on January 2006 at Ebay. just wanted to clean up my closet and it snow-balled from there.
then buyers kept asking for more.. i used to be fashion buyer/designer for the past years. So i thought since im already into fashion and clothes, why not bring in unique trendy clothes i find abroad which i dont see here since im always on buying trips. W e started with a few pieces and eventually the buyers kept demanding for more.
On October 2007, we decided to invest and open our own full online store www.nuiclothing.com
Believe it or not, starting an online biz isnt costly. we started with actually ZERO CAPITAL since we just sold whatever we had in our closet. Then money from whatever we sold were then invested to buy more pieces abroad and eventually it was able to finance us to open our own online .com store.
Do you shop online? What are your favourite sites and why?
Yes, whenever i have relatives coming home from the U.S. www.anthropologie.com .. this online store is so me! This is where i get my design inspirations from
Any particular online experience that you would like to share?
Just the happy experience of developing friendship with our buyers. They are the backbone of our business. From a simple idea of cleaning my closet to opening a full online store in a years' time and to be able to finally do this full time and quit my day-job. We are here because of them. Online selling has given us a chance for a better life.
the wonderful feedbacks we get from our buyers are priceless!! when they say the actual item is better than the picture on site. How lovely the items are and how good the quality is .
