United States of America (Press Release) January 29, 2008 --
Once again, we have a portion of the country with hundreds of thousands of people without electrical power. It did not even take terrorists or illegal aliens to do it. Mother Nature managed quite well on her own, thank you! How long will it take the power to get back on this time? Come to think of it, why did the power go out?
The technology exists which would allow everyone to provide their own energy without having to depend on the power companies. If Congress and our individual state legislatures were really interested in lowering energy costs and greenhouse gasses, wouldn’t most of our power be solar and wind generated? If they were worried about terrorists attacking our infrastructure, would they not eliminate the need for it? So why are we all dependant on the power companies? Simple, the only thought Congress ever gets always originates from a lobbyist. Only the lobbyists with the most money can penetrate the skulls of the prevaricating elocutionists posing in Washington as legislators. They would rather spend our tax dollars helping the big corporate power companies rebuild the infrastructure rather than to do away with it.
Nearly every home in the country could be completely powered by a combination of solar and wind generation. Our government seems to think we are better off paying a big bill to the power company every month and putting up with power outages when we can least afford them. There is a solution. Petition your state legislature to require all new homes to be self-powered by 2010
Cowboy and write in Presidential candidate Bob Kinford actually has such a boilerplate petition on his website at http://www.bobkinford.com This ultimate Washington outsider is also calling for a couple of Constitutional amendments and has the petitions ready for you to download as well. The first petition is calling for term limits in Washington, limiting legislators to two terms total between the Senate, House, and Presidency.
Kinford is the only candidate actually making change during the election rather than promising it afterwards. He believes that before any real change will be made, you have to get to the root of the problem.
“Every problem we have, from health care, to the environment, to energy, and the trade imbalance begun with legislation in Washington.” Kinford says, adding “The more experience a candidate has, the more they have contributed to our problems.”
. The petitions are downloadable for free at http://www.bobkinford.com , and Kinford has added forums to his site so that teams may coordinate efforts.
