WHUT FM says: Hip Hop radio program producers can't keep up with brokered radio airtime fees
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 2, 2008 --
I run WHUT 91.9 FM in NYC, which is the premier FCC Part-15 brokered airtime radio station which mostly, at one time was all hip-hop shows for the passed 12 years. Now WHUT FM, has airtime available for sale, for any format.
My honest opinion: HIP HOP IS GOING $$ BUST $$.
During those early years, we've had various HIP-HOP program producers that had money and now they don't, from Promo Radio with Jessie Jess and Mr.Raw at www.hiphoppalace.com, Show Case Radio with Dj Sleepy Eye, AOS Radio, Mogul Radio, H.U.N.C Radio, Harlem up and Coming, The Ready-Cee Show, at www.djreadycee.com, Show-N-Prove Radio, Grind Hard TV and many others.. These shows are no longer heard on WHUT FM, and more to fade away very soon this month!
Hip Hop radio program producers can't keep up with brokered radio airtime fees, that is why, in 2007 I saw the worst year ever. Our weekly radio shows had many cancellations every week and three radio shows dropped out completely. The beginning of 2008 shows no improvement either. Now our Monday and Thursday and Friday Slots are now open.
The stock market's ups and downs reflects on consumer confidence, leaving many radio sponsors uncertain about rap and hip hop's future.
