Barbados Conference Services Limited (BCSL) continues to fly the Barbados flag high in the international market.
For_Immediate_Release:

Barbados (Press Release) February 4, 2008 -- AS GLOBAL industry-leaders continue to seek out new destinations for corporate meetings, group and incentive travel, Barbados’ foremost Event and Destination Management Company is moving to capitalise on this trend by forging a series of new linkages with these prospective clients from across the world.

Against this background, the Barbados Conference Services Ltd. (BCSL) campaign to entice new business to the island has maintained its focus on reaching out to international meeting planners, business owners, CEO’s, marketing executives and a host of other industry professionals with the Company’s recent attendance at two of the largest international events in the hospitality industry – the Motivation Show and the World Travel Market.

The BCSL team took part in these annual events, the former in the United States and the latter in London, as part of two contingents from Barbados on a mission to promote the island’s wide range of products and services to thousands of the leading players in hospitality and trade industries from North America, the UK, Central Europe, Asia and Africa.

The Motivation Show, the largest exhibition and conference events for promoting motivational strategies and tactics for business professionals, and the World Travel Market, the world’s leading tourism and hospitality showcase, both took place in the fourth quarter of 2007 and, according to BCSL Marketing and Sales Manager, Shelley Miller, presented “excellent” opportunities both for BCSL and Barbados.

The BCSL Executive noted that while their attendance at these two events had distinctly different objectives, they both represented unique platforms to promote the services of BCSL.

Among the objectives were building brand awareness of Horizon Coaches and Tours (HCT) as the destination management company of choice in Barbados, the acquisition of leads and creation of strategic linkages, the conducting of market research and networking and relationship building.

“These shows provide unique platforms for us to develop long-term business relationships and to reach some of the big players in the industry to promote the Destination Management side of our business,” she said. “The World Travel Market alone provided exposure to over 48,000 delegates from all over the world”.

“Ultimately, our presence at these events continues to offer excellent opportunities for the business…and we will continue to be active participants in these types of activities which not only promote BCSL’s services, but bolster the island’s vital tourism industry.”

Miller added that the company would be aggressively following up all of the contacts and connections made during the events to ensure that all of these relationships are translated to new business for the Company and for the country.
