Peru, Republic of (Press Release) February 5, 2008 --
we stayed at the punta sal beach club hotel in January 2007 for about 10 days. All of our next door neighbors (mostly americans) including us got sick from eating at the restaurant.
this info i got from someone at the hotel:
the owners do not want to pay the employees their christmas bonuses so they (owners) claim the employees as earning minimun wage. while we were there, the owners and their families had a christmas party on christmas eve while the employees worked. i asked an employee when was the last time he spent time with his/her family on christmas, he responded over 15 years.
the rooms were extremely humid and hot and the air conditioning was not hooked up and we got eaten by mosquitoes.
the owners were very rude and inconsiderate.
this info i got from someone at the hotel:
a local beer company launched a new line of beer from this hotel. as a token of appreciation to the emplyees, the beer co. gave them several hundres cases of beers. what the owner did was to keep the beer and sell it to their guests.

this hotel is very expensive for this area and the experience was horrible.
