BROADWAY/DISNEY COMPOSER DAVID FRIEDMAN PERFORMS AT UNITY CAMBRIDGE

Cambridge, Mass. (Feb 8,2008) – Broadway composer and musical director David Friedman will be the featured musical artist at Unity of Cambridge church on Sunday, Feb. 10th at 11 a.m. as part of a “Thought Exchange” forum and workshop.

Friedman’s credits include musical direction and vocal arranging for five Broadway shows and numerous Disney feature films, including “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas,” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” His songs of inspiration, love and hope include “We Can Be Kind,” “Listen to My Heart,” “Trust the Wind” and “I’ll Be Here With You.” His song “Unity” was a nominee for the first Posi Award in the category of Most Uniting New Thought.

“At Unity Cambridge each Sunday we celebrate our divinity through the joyful expression of music,” said Carole Cornelison, chairman of the church’s steering committee. “We are blessed and honored that Reverend Shawn Moninger and his gifted partner Broadway and Disney composer David Friedman will share their talents and dynamic music ministry with our community,”

Friedman’s music will accompany his partner, Rev. Shawn Moninger, for his talk “Let Me Fly,” about the idea of New Thought and how to use New Thought, a powerful technique to change what is appearing in our lives as easily as we change our clothes. In the workshop that follows, Moninger and Friedman will lead a group in examining a situation in their lives, tracing what thoughts might be underlying it and in selecting a “new thought,” to see if it changes the situation.

He and Moninger, currently the Senior Minister of Unity of Fairfield County in Norwalk, Conn., and the founding president of The Unity Church of New York in New York City, travel to conferences and Unity churches all over the U.S. spreading the message of New Thought. Moninger’s mission in life and in his ministry is for everyone in the world to know that he or she is Good. It is a simple task and a powerful journey.
