Los Algodones Mexico targets the local Indians for Police brutality

United States of America (Press Release) February 6, 2008 -- Los Algodones Baja California Mexico appears to be targeting the local indigenous people of Mexico for Police harrassment,brutality and corruption. Many of the Indians are too scared of the Policia to speak up for themselves and often suffer the consequences of paying out enormous amounts of hard earned money to the corrupt city Policia and officials.
The Police, under the guise of protecting the tourists, target these harmless individuals, taking them to the back streets of Los Algodones and committing atrocities such as brutal beatings, stealing all their possesions, hijacking their cars under false premises,imprisioning them for blackmail to anyone with enough money to bail them out. This is all kept quiet from the local tourists, so as not to disturb the steady flow of income into this mexican border town. Up to one million dollars flows into Los Algodones daily during the tourist season, and the city officials and merchants quickly cover up the injustices to the Indians with lies and pretend ignorance of this targeted populations injustices.
The Indians have no voice to protest, and if they do attempt to speak out about the corruption, they are quickly labeled to be part of a terrorist group. A false accusation drummed up by the goverment in order to be able to further target and imprision them.
All tourists should stop coming to Los Algodones in protest of this treatment, and demand the end of Police corruption. The real criminals should be brought to justice, instead of the innocent,harmless indians who are only seeking to survive and feed their families in this poverty stricken country.
Tourists beware! The next target could be you!!! If you dont speak Spanish, you really have no hope either.
