BayanTel Wireless Landline Service Really Sucks! This is an actaul testimony.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 6, 2008 --
Dear all,
If you are planning to get one, “DON’T”! At least perhaps not this time yet. I was one of those people who got the eagerness, excitement, and enthusiasm to try out this “revolutionary” landline phone services. And likewise, I was one of those people who got dismayed, unsatisfied, and returned the units as well.
The service really sucks! It’s is very unreliable in terms of connectivity, hence you can’t rely on it for emergencies.
I got one of those cellphone-like units. It’s hard to get a signal anywhere. And even if you do find a good signal, you can’t still be reached. I have experienced having a full signal, but when I tried to call using my BayanTel landline (the one standard connected to wires) to contact my BayanTel Wireless,
it would say “Cannot be reached.” I am in the heart of Cubao, Q.C. I am even very near a BayanTel Business Center. There is also no signal inside the malls, nor outside the malls. You really need to be literally on the road or streets, yes not on sidewalks, but literally on the streets, to get a great service. In fairness, when you do get a good service, the audio quality is quite good actually. That’s if you get a good service!
I even had the experience that whenever I try to call my wireless unit, I can see that the signal drops to zero whenever my wired landline tries to connect to it. Duh????? Yeah! It’s also hard to connect to a landline when calling using the BayanTel Wireless phone. ANY landline in that case, even if you are calling a BayanTel landphone. Likewise,
the text messaging doesn’t work! I tried sending text messages to my Bayantel Wireless using all mobile providers (Globe, Touch, Smart, Talk N’ Text, Addict, Sun), but it didn’t receive any of those.
The battery too drops and gets low instantly even on stand-by idle time. I charged the unit for almost 8 hours, took it off the charger at 4am, I slept and when I got up at 9am, the phone is dead! Apparently, the customer service told me that the reason for getting an instant drop on the battery is because the phone continuously searches for signal hence needing more constant battery power. Meaning, the BayanTel Wireless CDMA signal is really weak! She also told me that this is unlike our usual GSM cellphones that the network providers’ signal is the one searching for phones to serve, in this case, BayanTel Wireless (and may be PLDT too) phone units is the one searching for signal.
I have also tried to return my unit (ZTE) to BayanTel, ‘coz they have this money-back guarantee thing, but instead they insisted to have my unit changed to a different brand and model (Huawei). But seems that the phones are alright, it is the service that sucks!
And one last thing, speaking of money back guarantee, BayanTel has this “15-day Money Back Guarantee” policy. Yes it is clearly written on their striking red flyers and tarpaulins. But what they don’t include is that there is actually a P500 processing fee if you choose to return it! Total Marketing deception! This is B.S.! It’s like getting us pay more than half of what they charge for a monthly subscription fee. Their monthly subscription fee for a wireless service is P699 VAT inclusive. And for a 15-day Money Back Guarantee period, they robbed me with P500! It’s like I paid more than half of it!
I am not the only ones that BayanTel has ripped off with this. A lot of people have been complaining and returning their units and giving up their subscriptions. The ratio could be 9 out of 10 users are not satisfied. They are making money with their P500 processing fee instead of their actual monthly service fee.
Let this be a warning to everyone. You are still better with your cellphones. Don’t get ripped off!
Pass this on… warn others…
