New book released - ‘Cyberscams – How they effect ebay, paypal and you’
A new book that shows the who, what, where, how and why of Internet scams. Real emails are used to teach people how to spot scams.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 7, 2008 --
James Elliott has written a book that exposes the workings of twenty five (25) of the most common scams that are rampant on the Internet today, including seventeen that target ebay users. But these scams are not ones that Internet users may find on their cyber travels, they are scams that are sent to people’s inboxes daily – and if the recipient doesn’t realise that the email is in fact a scam then they may become the next victim.
This book attempts to answer the following questions -
· WHO … is running these scams?
· WHAT … are they doing and how do they do it?
· WHERE … are these people located?
· HOW … do they get your personal details and what they do with this information?
· WHY … do they do it?
Most importantly this book will use real emails, which the author has received, in order to teach readers on how to spot scams. The author receives roughly eighty spam emails per day, which include approximately fifteen scam emails, so this is all from personal experience.
Internet scams are a world wide problem that effects many people. According to www.itfacts.biz 70% of people have been tricked by a scam email and 4.5 million Americans have fallen victim to the Nigerian letter scam.
In 2006 - US$437 million was lost to Internet scams by Americans and 4.7 billion pounds was lost by UK Internet users.
After everything is said and done there is only one guaranteed method of stopping these scams, and that is KNOWLEDGE - this book will attempt to teach just that.
This book is now available on 'Amazon' among other sellers or can be bought directly from the web site of www.thebestscams.com
This book has been written by James Elliott who is a first time author. He has a Degree in computers and is a user of the Internet since 1996.
James was an ‘ebay educational specialist’ who taught ebay to beginners and veterans alike in Sydney. During these lessons he realised that most the questions from his students were about Internet security and scams; this lead to the creation of a web site that dealt with Internet scams (www.thebestscams.com) and this book.
