Be Positive, the Mantra of Success only on Pragya
With the onslaught of umpteen banal shows on Indian television, the industry is mostly mocked for its plethora of sas bahu sagas or mountain out of a mole hill news items. Now, even the commonest people understand the TRP race of the TV channels. In this scenario, there’s one channel does exist that primarily promotes positivity among the masses. Though it sounds utopian, yet it’s a fact. Launched on 24th November 2007, Pragya is a channel that aims to achieve a holistic positivity in life. There are a number of shows designed to achieve the goal. One among them is a unique Reality Show called “Be Positive”. It is a first ever spiritual reality show on Indian Television.
As the name suggests, “Be Positive” is designed in a manner that caters entertainment as well as a positive message. There are four teams of two members in each. All take part in a journey from Delhi to Haridwar along with a dashing anchor, Faraz Shere. During the journey, they are engaged in some tasks that they never expected. The show is worth watching as the participants are no common people but distinguished personalities like Shammi Narang, one of the best TV News anchor of yore, Satish Babber, a renowned Ghazal singer and his daughter Vani Babber also a singer. Apart from them, there are a couple of budding actors and a pair of girls who are roommates. In the episodes, they can be seen engaged in doing some odd jobs that even they had never thought of. The show has been appreciated widely and indeed worth watching.
Riyaz Arshad Nazish, senior producer of Be Positive states, “It was a great challenge when I was asked to develop a concept for reality show that teaches spirituality. In most of the reality shows contestants are seen vying with each other for a hefty prize amount. Here the winner is one who dismisses the material demands and cherishes in simple living. Keeping that in mind, I have designed the show in such a way where, in some parts participants can be seen compromising even with their ego. The second difficult part was selecting the participants; I wanted someone who can inspire the viewers. I’m therefore very thankful to all the revered participants who spared time and took part in the show.”
Treatment of the show is very moving. There’s not a single frame that is stationary, most of the shots are hand held that add flavor to the journey. Post production is done with great deal of freshness and trendy editing cuts. Mamun and Rajeev Amit Singh, the producers of the show have explored all possible avenues to package the show in a stylish way.
Pragya Vision Ltd. is truly a vision of Mrs Meena Tiwari, and Pragya Channel is just one of the examples of a visionary thinking and ability to put things together against many odds. As the head of Pragya Vision, she feels that cultural ethics and values are no doubt very important; however, they should be moulded according to the changing times and needs. This is widely reflected in her latest endeavour, the Pragya Channel which not just focuses on the relevance of spiritualism but also how it should be amalgamated in our changing tough lifestyle.
Be Positive is a bi weekly show only on Pragya TV. The show can be seen at 9 to 9:30pm every Saturday and Sunday.
