Baltimore, MD --- On January 28, 2008, Sharan Nixon, President/CEO of Baltimore’s Fashion Week was still on the quest to find more artists/designers from a variety of fashion backgrounds to participate in Baltimore’s Fashion Week.
Baltimore Fashion Week is an opportunity for any type of artist/designer to present their creations to a national audience. “We are excited about our growing roster of designers, but I want every type of artist and designer that is in Baltimore to be represented and showcase their collection at Baltimore Fashion Week,” says Nixon.
On August 13th, we will be showcasing those designers of varied fashion backgrounds such as urban clothing designers, extreme sport, shoe, jean, and children’s fashion designers to showcase on the Public Display for Af-FASHION runway event.
On August 14th, we will be showcasing those designers to include those previously mentioned plus Goth, costume designers, punk, and any designer that has a fashion style that is against the norm and could be considered in their view, Thinking Outside The Box runway event.
On August 15th, we are looking for designers that create couture bridal, couture gowns, eveningwear, and garments of that sophisticated look and feel. These designers will be showcased during our finale, The Love for Haute Couture runway event.
“Whether you spray t-shirts, you design Goth wear, or you design wedding dresses. I want to give every designer a chance to show their talent,” says Nixon.
