Fiji, Republic of the Fiji Islands (Press Release) February 16, 2008 --
Fiji’s internet users have long awaited a website where they can buy and sell goods and advertise services to others within Fiji or trade internationally, affordably.
Well the wait is over. FijiBidder.com is here!
There have been several out cry for the high prices of consumer goods and this has lead to the launch of Fiji’s one and only online auction website. Fijibidder.com was launched on the 1st of February 2008.
Fiji Bidder website launch is expected to bring more competition for the retailers, hence reducing the price in most of the consumer goods and services market.
The developers of FijiBidder.com said in their media statement that
“FijiBidder will strive to be the most affordable place to buy any goods. It will also be the first place where users will list wanted items, or sell their items. It is open 24/7 and can be accessed from any computer with internet access globally. FijiBidder.com will directly connect to buyers to sellers and vice versa. The savings are enormous with FijiBidder.com. People will be able to list there new or used items from anywhere”
One of developers also said that
“Since FijiBidder launch date, thousands of users have already registered to benefit from the $50.00 account credit. Since auction and classified websites are unheard of in Fiji, it will take time to sink in. I am sure, it will be realized soon and hoping full benefits can reaped from this project. This website is for the benefit of Fiji Islanders and to make things easier for them. I don’t want people to run to Fiji Times office to publish adverts and pay exorbitant amount of money for small classifieds. FijiBidder can do the same thing way better. There is no limit to characters, pictures etc and all in all it’s very affordable. You don’t have to run, because FijiBidder.com never closes and can be accessed from the privacy of your own home”
Online auction is unheard of in Fiji. However, there are several major online auction websites around the world. The most famous one is eBay which has 240 million registered members worldwide. Out of 240 million, 128 million are only form USA. EBay is worth $36 Billion USD today. Close to Fiji, New Zealand’s internet users sit on only one website and that is trademe.co.nz. Trademe.co.nz was launched in 1999 and today it got 1.2 million registered users NZ wide. It’s the fastest growing NZ Company which was launched by a graduate student in Wellington, NZ.
It’s been predicted that FijiBidder.com will take sometime to hit the Fiji internet users but will surely be the one place where Fiji Islanders will end up everyday in future. FijiBidder.com will surely be the place where users can buy and sell online.
FijiBidder.com is owned and managed by ex Fiji students. For further information, please log into fijibidder.com website today.
