CREATIVE REBELS STRIKE AGAIN: Alternative Artists Band Together for Web-Based Guerrilla Marketing
With the launch of its new web address, www.aoacollective.com, Alternative Online Artists (AOA) has been reborn.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 17, 2008 --
Dallas, TX, February 16, 2008: Most artists would never dream of mixing insecticides with spray paint, defacing heirloom portraits with crude sketches, or warping painted canvases into paper airplanes. But for alternative artists THH70 , GUS FINK , and NIX , these techniques are common practice. This month, these three and their fellow artists have something to be excited about. With the launch of its new web address, www.aoacollective.com, Alternative Online Artists (AOA) has been reborn.
Nestled within the site, visitors will find the bios, links, and snapshots of work by artists who defy the traditional art trade through various mediums and influences. From Abstract and Pop Art, to Outsider, Neo-Expressionism, and Graffiti, it was a combination of creativity that brought success to AOA's original site, which averaged between 800 and 1000 hits per day at it's peak.
AOA first gained popularity after its initial launch in 2001 by releasing a new brand of visual art to the mainstream public. Since then, artists such as SFAUSTINA , DAVMO , JESSE RENO , and TREVOR FOLTZ (TEF) have watched their careers accelerate, selling well over one thousand pieces combined. Add the success of the group as a whole and that number increases exponentially. It’s figure like these that prompted the launch of AOA’s new address, www.aoacollective.com. “AOA has always been a philanthropic venture for me,” says founder THH70 . “It’s the ultimate win-win approach to presenting our genre of artwork to the masses." What is the key behind the success of AOA? Quality assurance – each artist has been selected for the collective by a resident voting board. “Cutesy pet portraits simply don’t fly for AOA,” notes NIX , an AOA artist. “The voting process is crucial to uphold the image of the group as a whole." In addition to the voting process, a 30-artist cap has been placed on membership in AOA. The current roster includes original members THH70 , SFAUSTINA , DAVMO , JESSE RENO , GUS FINK , TIM GERST , SCOTT GASTELLU , JUNKYKID , TEF , and JUAN CARLOS NORIA (ROYAL) and new additions NIX , MICHAEL FIELDS , LANA GUERRA , and MARK FOX .
After learning of the concept behind the AOA, art enthusiasts often ask, “What is the point of a collective?” For THH70 , the answer is simple. “AOA is a group effort – a central hub to be used as a resource for alternative art,” he states. “The site grants exposure to members by linking collectors to unfamiliar yet incredibly talented artists that may otherwise go unnoticed.” For more about AOA, visit the new site at www.aoacollective.com.
