MELINDA MYERS HITS THE ROAD RUNNING ON FLOWER SHOW TOUR

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 19, 2008 -- Gardening expert, TV host and author Melinda Myers will be a busy lady traveling the country for her 2008 Spring Flower Show Tour. This spring, Myers will be a featured speaker at numerous major flower shows across the United States. The tour begins in February and wraps up by the end of May. Myers will be a key presenter at the following shows:

· The Connecticut Flower & Garden Show, Hartford, CT – Feb. 21-22,
· The Northwest Flower & Garden Show, Seattle, WA – Feb. 23-24
· The Syracuse Flower Show/Central NY Blooms – Syracuse, NY - March 1

· The Philadelphia Flower Show, Philadelphia, PA – March 4
· The Chicagoland Flower Show, Chicago, IL – March 9
· The San Francisco Flower & Garden Show – March 12-13
· The Siouxland Flower Show, South Sioux City, NE – March 14
· The Sioux Falls Lawn & Garden Show, Sioux Falls, SD – March 15
· Garden Showcase - West Bend, WI - April 20

“The tour is a great way for me to meet and reach a lot of gardeners from all over the country,” said Myers. “My hope is that I can inspire not only veteran gardeners, but also those who have never had their hands in the dirt – especially children.”

Myers will be presenting on a wide range of topics, including “Energy Wise Gardening,” “Small Space Gardening,” “Small Scale Plants with Big Impact,” “Creating a Colorful Garden,” and for children “Build Your Own Plant,” which is a hands on activity that teaches kids about how plants grow.

Birds & Blooms and Backyard Living magazines are the sponsors of Myers’ presentations at the Connecticut Flower & Garden Show, The Northwest Flower & Garden Show, The Syracuse Flower Show, The Philadelphia Flower Show, The Chicagoland Flower & Garden Show, The San Francisco Flower & Garden Show as well as the New Jersey Flower & Garden Show, which Myers presented at Feb. 16-17, 2008.

Myers, best known for her practical, gardener-friendly approach to gardening, has more than 25 years of horticultural experience in both hands-on and instructional settings. She
has a master’s degree in horticulture, is a certified arborist, and was a horticulture instructor

with tenure. Myers shares her expertise through a variety of media outlets. She is the author of numerous gardening books, including Can’t Miss Small Space Gardening. She hosts “Great Lakes Gardener,” seen on PBS stations throughout the United States and “Melinda’s Garden Moments,” which air on network television stations throughout the country. She also appears regularly as a guest expert on various national and local television and radio shows. She writes the twice monthly “Gardeners’ Questions” newspaper column and is a contributing editor and columnist for Birds & Blooms and Backyard Living magazines.
