Hip-Hop Heavyweights Take Over Orlando March 7-9th

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 20, 2008 -- In today’s competitive world of hip-hop, only few have what it takes to stand out among the crowd. Whether its MCs, DJs, producers, or musicians, only one contest can decipher those worthy of recognition. Lounge Battles, Florida’s longest running hip-hop competition and festival, dedicates three days of intense competition toward extracting the talented from the undeserving. Hosted by Orlando’s prestigious battle MC Madd Illz, some of the nation’s best will present their hip-hop talents in front of industry executives, media outlets, and respected guest judges.

The first contest, the” 2-on-2 Street Battle,” will feature duos of quick-witted lyrical teams that must thrive on the demoralization of their opposition. This initial event will take place at Taste, which is located at 717 W. Smith St. in Orlando, Florida.

For the first time in the event’s six-year history, Lounge Battles will offer a “Battle of the Bands.” As a continuation of last year’s event, there will still be a “DJ Battle,” “Human Beatbox Battle,” and an individual “MC Battle.” Each of these events will take place on Saturday, March 8th at AKA Lounge. AKA Lounge is located at 68 W Pine St. in Orlando, Florida.

The final day of hip-hop festivities will feature the backbone of hip-hop: production. Some of the area’s hottest producers will attempt to glorify their abilities of beat-making by bestowing their unique and most interesting hip-hop creations. This concluding event will take place at Backbooth, which can be found at 37 W Pine St. in Downtown Orlando.

All winners will be compensated for their contributions, with prizes ranging anywhere from $100 to $1,000 in cash.
