In honor of Starbucks' closing to "re-train" its employees, gourmet specialty coffee shop The Publick Cup will be offering its customers free coffee drinks. From 5:30 - 8:30 pm on Tuesday February 26th, the Publick Cup is happy to treat Starbucks' customers and regular clientle to the real specialty coffee experience.
"We are proud of the product we offer," states the Publick Cup manager Benjamin Wilkinson, "We want everyone to know that Starbucks is not the standard for the true coffee experience." During the three hour closure of the two New Haven Starbucks' stores, Wilkinson and the Publick Cup crew will be giving away 8 oz drip coffees, double espressos and 8 oz cappuccinos.
The Publick Cup recently renamed itself from Koffee Too? and has been operating for seven years under local area owners Tracy and Lee Jackson. They serve specialty coffee roasted and delivered every week from Dillanos Coffee Roasters based in Sumner, Washington, just south of Seattle. The staff is happy to treat you to a real specialty coffee experience.
