Karen O Bannon is more than an author. She’s also a wife and mother who shares her wisdom in a new poetry book titled A Song for You—Parables and Pearls.
The Kentucky author will discuss her collection of poems on Saturday March 15 at the Shawnee Public Library in Louisville, Kentucky in conjunction with Women’s History Month. O Bannon says the poems were inspired by her daughter. “As I watch my daughter grow up I am gaining a better understanding of how the relationship between mothers and daughters can have a lasting effect.” My book is a reminder to women that the character attributes learned as children carry equal significance in adulthood and attempts to create reflective dialogue that inspires growth and change.” In addition to the poems, A Song for You—Parables and Pearls also includes scriptures and life applications about ordinary women in ordinary circumstances.
O Bannon says she is honored, as a woman, to share her thoughts and wisdom with others---especially young women. “How we live our lives will determine our history and I want to encourage young women to live it with promise, determination and faith in God.”
