Promoting Malta properties and the business and investment opportunties found on the Maltes Islands

Malta Properties has taken place at the WESTIN Jeddah Hotel – Saudi Arabia on 20th January, 2008 .The event was aimed to orient the business circle in Saudi Arabia of the business and investment opportunities Malta would offer . It has witnessed the presence and the participation of the ambassador of Malta to Saudi Arabia and GCC his Excellency Mr. Godwin Montanaro.
Among the activities that took place during the event was three formal presentations one of which was delivered by Mr. Montanaro . His Excellency expressed that Malta is considered as a safe destination enjoying the best and pleasant Mediterranean climate and lifestyle .His speech has shed light on Malta as a country rich of its diversified culture , long history ,and being an attractive choice for residency , tourism and investments. He answered as well a couple of questions raised by the attendees. On the other hand , Mr. Mark Chetcuti has presented to the attendees with some facts and figures related to tourism , investments in properties and the advantages the investor and the residency seeker may have in terms of business growth , taxation benefits and the facilities being rendered by the authorities in Malta . He stressed the role being played by the new project commissioned by the TECOM Investments , the founders of the Dubai Internet City, called "Smart City " to duplicate the same formula on the Maltese Islands imminently.
Mr. Chetcuti , who has been engaged into some projects in Saudi Arabia and gulf , felt that such eminent project would further revitalise the Maltese Islands, and this would encourage thousands of people to consider Malta as their home as well as their place of work and entertainment.
The third presentation was delivered by Mr. Pierre Mifsud who is a lawyer and a partner at one of the outstanding Maltese law firms. He spoke of the laws and regulations governing the residency on the Maltese islands. He further explained the opportunities for investments in the financial Services as a growing and attractive sector for many investors and companies.
He clarified that obtaining a residency permit on the Maltese Islands offer a number of unique advantages. First , it is open to all nationalities around the world and there is no minimum stay requirement. The freedom of movement into and out of Malta will apply to the rest of the 30 countries across Europe within the Schengen Agreement.
