For_Immediate_Release:

United States of America (Press Release) February 26, 2008 -- Miami, USA: CyberKnife - The non invasive image guided radio surgery system that deals with the cancerous part of the human body with excellent precision has been the source of cure of more than 10,000 patients suffering from cancer. This non surgical stereotactic radio surgery is done with the help of high doses of radiation beams which are delivered though multiple locations destroy the tumors or lesions inside the body.

For people who do not understand what Cyberknife is and what does it do, the Miami CyberKnife center in its website explains that CyberKnife treats vascular abnormalities, functional disorders, tumors and cancers of the body. CyberKnife uses a unique linear accelerator (Linac) which produces the radiation mounted on the robotic arm and this radiation is delivered through the image guided cameras that help CyberKnife to locate tumors. The radiation is delivered with exactness posing minimum danger to the healthy tissues surrounding the tumor.

CyberKnife is safe as it is not a surgery this means no cuts and no blood. Patients remain conscious and are not administered with anesthesia, thus they are safe from the after effects of anesthesia. The CyberKnife system adjusts its targeting accuracy with the steers made by the patient during the treatment.

However, the patient, might after treatment feel headache or nausea which is not the result of radiation but simply aftereffects of fatigue or sleeplessness. Redding of face might occur due to vomiting or face mesh. Brain swelling in the treatment site may occur but this can be solved with the help of steroids and other medications.

CyberKnife treatment, overall, seems to be the only safest way to cure tumors and cancers.
