Southern California Monte Jade Science & Technology Association (SCMJ) is pleased to announce the open application period for its 5th-year Dr. Denny Ko Future Entrepreneurship Scholarship Award for 2008. High school seniors, college/graduate school students in southern California are eligible for application. The deadline for submission is March 10, 2008.
The scholarship was established in 2003 in remembrance of late Dr. Denny Ko who was a high-tech entrepreneur, venture capitalist and community leader well known among the Chinese-American communities. This scholarship is open to the public. Its primary purpose is to foster the leadership and entrepreneurship of young generation. Up to $1,000 award will be honored to each scholarship winner.
The applicant needs to fill out the application form and submit an executable business plan (an essay instead for high school seniors). Qualified applicants will be notified for an interview with the scholarship review committee. Criteria for evaluating the applicants include his/her proposed business plan, academic record, and extracurricular activities performance. A mentorship program will be offered to the award winners for consultation and further development of their entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and capabilities.
